What am I doing?

I'm ready to resume paying it forward again and make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. I would love to have you come join me and/or support me w/ prayers and tax deductible contributions.

As usual, I am fundraising on behalf of the Cancer Support Community. I couldn't have gotten through my cancer journey or especially my GI detour as easily w/o their support. I haven’t been team captain since my COPD became symptomatic and restricted me to virtual walks in my neighborhood on race day. 

2024 saw me switching to walking indoors after my DERM suspected I had a new sunlight allergy. Well, I’m still rashy tho’ now my DERM isn’t quite sure what I have as my rash doesn’t follow the usual pattern of a sunlight allergy nor does it behave like a typical contact allergy.

Worse yet, while walking indoors at night at Sprouts, I suffered a Slip & Fall thru some goop. I’ve been doing a lot of PT, OT, acupuncture, Aqua PT and even Ozone injections. 

On 2/20/25, I was back to walking at least 30m at a stretch when my still unstable knees buckled while getting up and I ended up tangling w/ my rollator and office chair and suffered more trauma to my feet and ankles. Regular daily walks are on hold as I’m in too much pain after walking a short distance or for ~5 minutes or so w/o resting.

How the Komen Foundation Came Thru for Me

The Komen foundation came thru for me twice at $1000 a pop when I couldn't afford lymphedema compression garments, sleeves and gauntlets that my insurance wouldn't cover. I pay it forward now so that the Komen Foundation can come thru for others who might be in the same situation I was and need financial assistance during their cancer journey.

I’m still dancing w/ NED (No Evidence of Disease)! My 17th cancer-versary was in April. In honor of my 17 years of survivorship, thus far, please consider supporting my efforts for the 2025 Komen More Than Pink Walk by making a tax-deductible donation of $10 or more ideally before SEP 1st to be counted towards recognition of my fundraising efforts at this year's walk.
