My Story
Hello!
My name is Julie (Jules) and I am a breast cancer “thriver.” I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer stage 2 in January 2024. Since then I have completed 8 rounds of chemotherapy, 6 weeks of radiation, and I kicked a double mastectomy with lymph node removal’s butt.
It has been a journey this last year and a half. But I couldn’t have gotten through it without my 4 year-old year daughter, my husband, my extended family and friends. Currently, I am on intense hormone therapy as my cancer was estrogen positive. So I am still here “chugging” along and living my “new” normal despite this terrible disease.
If I could give one piece of advice to someone in the beginning stages of breast cancer, it would be to advocate for yourself. To me that’s extremely important and helpful while you’re on this journey.
Thank you for reading my story. I am excited to be walking again this year and I am looking forward to being surrounded by so many amazing and brave women. I won’t stop fighting! We got this. Let’s find a cure and continue to get funded for research through this beautiful organization! Please consider donating today.
