In November of 2024, my mom Kesea Tucker, was diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer. It came as a shock to us all but her doctors and surgery team acted quickly. In January of 2025 my mom under went 2 surgeries, the first being a lumpectomy and the second to cut some more tissue that had cancer cells on it. She started radiation in April and has been cancer free since April 30th of 2025. This is not always the case for any cancer patient let alone a breast cancer patient. While I am very thankful and grateful for Susan G Komen and their research, I want to give back by participating in this walk not only for my mom, but for everyone that this disease has affected as well.
The money our team raises will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer education & information, emotional support, patient navigation, financial assistance and so much more.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us. United together, we can support those who need help today, while fearlessly searching for tomorrow's cures.
