My Story
I am the granddaughter of a WARRIOR!
My grandmother was not only a warrior in the battle over breast cancer but many obstacles in her life. She was counted out so many times and remained faithful and focused. She was victorious over breast cancer and life. She was a survivor and lived a long fruitful life (97) in spite of the odds. Therefore, when I received my diagnosis of Breast cancer in December 2024 there was no question I had the tools necessary to also engage this enemy and be victorious as I had the spirit and blood of my grandmother pumping in my veins. I also had a warrior husband by my side who made sure I was not alone. He made sure I knew he was my partner in this fight as he is in life. I had a lumpectomy and radiation on my path to recovery and was able to ring the bell on March 31st. For me, ringing the bell signified the beginning of my recovery journey and life change. Because there is still work to be done to end this disease I Fight!
I walk to honor the warriors and survivors who came before me. I walk in the spirit of my Gnanny, my sister in law April, and Aunt Sarah, I walk with my Aunt Alva, and my cousin Janice, I walk for my friend Alice, I walk for resources for research to help my community end breast cancer.
Will you join me? Will you walk with me? Will you walk for those who can no longer walk, those who are just starting their journey?
Will you walk for those who will come after to make their journey easier?
Walk with me until there is no need for us to walk and this devastating disease is erradicated.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making your donation today?
