My Story
Hooters' Hope is back for a third year to participate in the Komen Georgia More Than Pink Walk! In 2023, my "baby" cousin Alecia (Lisa) Robinson, formed our team shortly after becoming a breast cancer survivor.
A breast cancer diagnosis can upend one's life. The physical stress of treatment, and the emotional stress of navigating it can be overwhelming. In Lisa's case, she could not have made it through without the help of her family, friends, and the Komen organization. She was fortunate to receive a breast cancer patient financial assistance grant from Komen which helped to ease her burden of not being able to work as she went through treatment.
In 2025, the money that our team, Hooters' Hope, raises will fund research to discover more effective treatments. In addition, it will fund vital patient support services, including connecting people to breast cancer education and information, emotional support, patient navigation, and financial assistance. If there was ever a time when we need to continue to rise up and support current breast cancer warriors, it is now!
In 2024, Hooters' Hope blasted past our original fundraising goal of $5,000.00, and we climbed to an ending total of $24,064.42. In 2025, we are reaching even higher with a goal to raise $25,000.00.
Our team of survivors, caretakers, family, and friends, asks for your donations. No donation is too small. Whatever you give, please know that you are making a difference by helping breast cancer warriors fight!!
Sending you peace, love, and many thanks,
Stephanie
