This Year Looks Different
Friends & Family,
This year looks different!
In 2023 my best friend Connie, a breast cancer survivor, asked me to join her in the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk. It was an honor to be a part of her health journey. We signed up, raised money and planned our day. Matching outfits and Bestie hats we wore as we ventured out on what we thought would be years of tradition. Connie was so proud to be a part of the sisterhood of survivors. It wasn't the easiest 2 miles for Connie but she pushed herself to the finish and I could not have been prouder. In 2024 we continued the tradition, another step in Connie's journey of survivorship. We couldn't wait to sign up in 2025.
In March of 2025 Connie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and in less than 2 months we were mourning her loss. During one of our talks, in the hospital, I promised her that I would carry on our tradition and that I would walk in her memory. So here I am. I’ve signed up for the walk in October, I’m hoping to raise some money - but it all feels so different. I miss her dearly and it will be difficult not having her next to me cheering me on with her laughter and joy, but I will do it for her - for my best friend's memory.
Last year I was a top 25 fundraiser - Connie was so proud of me! I'd love to be part of that group again this year, for her! Will you please join me in memory of Connie, or in honoring or remembering a family member or friend of yours affected by this terrible cancer, with a donation to the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk. And if you would, please share their name with me so that I can carry their name with me as I walk.
Thank you so much! Linda
