My Story
4 years ago I received that dreadful call from my doctor. Then after many tests and two lumpectomies, 16 rounds of radiation, and almost a year of hormone therapy I found myself thinking “did that really happen?” It did and I am grateful for technology, cancer research and the wonderful doctors I had especially my surgeon Dr Starr Mautner. It was caught early and that’s what saves lives.
I’ve been cancer free for 4 years. Unfortunately I had to have surgery last week for precancerous cells found in the same area. So happy to learn that the results of tissue taken came back negative so and I can move on with my scans every 6 months.
I’m sharing this personal information in order to bring awareness to early detection. Ladies be proactive! Don’t wait, don’t put it off to take care of everyone else.
