Hace diez años, alrededor de esta fecha, estaba luchando contra el cáncer de seno. Había terminado la quimioterapia y estaba por comenzar la radiación. Una amiga me invitó a participar en la caminata de Susan G. Komen. Acepté con escepticismo, por no decir con temor, pero fui.

Ese año, la caminata fue en Bayfront Park. Allí encontré a miles de mujeres y familias que estaban pasando por la misma lucha. Esa experiencia me cambió: me dio aliento y esperanza. Mi familia y amigos me acompañaron, y me dieron la fuerza que necesitaba.

Desde 2015, he asistido cada año a la caminata Susan G. Komen con mi familia y amigos. Estoy profundamente agradecida con Dios, mi familia y mis amigos por su apoyo incondicional.

Around this time ten years ago, I was battling breast cancer. I had just finished chemotherapy and was preparing to start radiation. A friend invited me to join the Susan G. Komen Walk. I accepted with skepticism?perhaps even fear?but I went.

That year, the walk took place at Bayfront Park. I found myself surrounded by thousands of women and families going through the same fight. That experience changed me. It gave me encouragement and hope. My family and friends were by my side, giving me the strength I needed.

Since 2015, I?ve participated in the Susan G. Komen Walk every year with my loved ones. I?m deeply grateful to God, my family, and my friends for always supporting me.
