This year, we’ve started a team for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk — and we’re walking for someone incredibly special: our grandma, Rachel Andersen.
Rachel has been courageously battling metaplastic breast cancer for several years. She’s endured countless rounds of chemo and radiation, heard devastating words from doctors, and faced more than most people ever will — yet she continues to fight with strength, grace, and humor.
But cancer is only a part of her story.
She’s a devoted wife of 50 years to her husband Rick, a mother to three, a grandmother to 12, and a proud great-grandmother to one. She’s the backbone of our family, the ultimate party planner, and the life of every room she enters. She shows up for all of us — and now, we’re showing up for her.
We’re walking and raising money in her honor, and in honor of all those fighting, surviving, and remembering. We’re committed to helping fund life-saving research, treatment access, and support services — because no one should have to face this disease alone.
Rachel hasn’t given up on us. And we will never give up on her.
