Welcome to Carrie's Fight Club!

On October 11, 2025, we're joining the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk in honor of Carrie Hannusch - mom, nana, auntie, twin, partner, sister, cousin, and friend.

With a strong family history of breast cancer, Carrie stayed on top of screenings. After a routine mammogram and some follow up tests, she was diagnosed with stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in July 2024. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor in August and started a course of radiation treatments in September.

Through this journey, Carrie has been extremely selfless, determined, and positive. The closest she ever came to complaining was when she said, "This is too much. I might just take a nap." She would cheer herself up by buying a new houseplant from the hospital gift shop at every appointment. After quickly amassing a small jungle, Carrie was blessed to ring the bell in October - declaring she was officially cancer free just three months after her diagnosis! But her fight didn't stop there. She has faced additional surgeries and the heartbreaking loss of a parent - all with grace and courage.

Our family knows firsthand how deeply breast cancer affects individuals and the people who love them. That's why we're walking - to honor Carrie's strength, to support all those currently fighting, and to remember the warriors we've lost.
