I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 at just 36 years old. I had bilateral mastectomies including reconstruction. I endured eight rounds of hard chemo and a year of Herceptin. My girls, my Kenz, and my Jordan were amazing little troopers. I can?t imagine what they felt watching their mom go through such a hard thing. I love you both so much! My son, my Christopher, supported me through phone calls from afar. I love you so much. I can?t imagine how you felt being so far away. My husband took good care of me making sure I was fed, clean and comfortable. He managed the household, the kids, and everything in between all while working a full-time job. Thank you so much, Jerry! I love you. My big brothers, Kevin and Anthony, loved on me through long distant phone calls, as they were both in the Armed Forces and far away from me. I love you both, and you know you?re my besties forever! I was supported by my family and countless friends, and I could not have done it without their love and graciousness. Even strangers supported me and I am forever grateful. Two years after my first diagnosis I started having hip and back pain. After going to the doctor and undergoing multiple tests, I found out that my cancer had metastasized to my bones. It was in my right femur and my spine. I underwent a surgery on my right leg to stabilize the bone so it would not break. I underwent 13 rounds of radiation, and it was the hardest thing I ever did. I am so thankful to my dad for coming all the way from Louisiana to care for me. Pops, you were my rock and I love and miss you every day. Unfortunately, in 2020, cancer took my dad?s life. We HAVE to find a cure for this indiscriminate beast. Thank you to everyone who helped me along every step of my journey. Thank you to God for healing me and giving me more time on earth.
