I remember the phone call. I remember not breathing. I remember trying to tell my husband... It was only a minute ago, except really it was 3 1/2 years ago. A diagnosis changes everything, forever. Cancer is devastating, but for me, it also ignited a strength I didn't know I had. Cancer opened my world to all the women struggling. We remain quiet until we bond with others in the same situation. And then we become the storm!
My tribe was found on the tennis courts - so many fighters beating down cancer with every ball we hit. Every win is mental and physical for us. We wear pink and we're Surviving the Match!
