I am a lucky lady who has survived breast cancer twice, once in 1998 and again in 2001.  Early detection was the key to my survival and it remains the best way to prevent cancer deaths.

Komen has been a leader in advocacy to fund breast cancer research and to outreach into the community, helping to spread the word about mammograms and providing support to those who are diagnosed, both those with early cancers and those who face more difficulties due to advanced disease.
