My Story
April 30, 2025 marks 1 year since I received that dreadful phone call. The phone call that changed everything for me. From countless doctor’s appointments, tests, biopsies, bloodwork, ultrasounds, MRI’s, genetic testing, onco type testing, mastectomy, port placement, multiple rounds of chemo, multiple rounds of radiation, port removal, suppression shots, several different medications, oophorectomy, several ER visits, hospital stays, and so much more. This is not the end of my fight as I still do have another surgery this upcoming summer and hormone therapy drugs for the next 10 years. However this is a beautiful reminder that we are all dealt with different cards and sometimes those cards might be scary. It is okay that they are scary. I have finally realized that you have to take those scary things one day at a time. It truly does make things easier to handle. I am forever grateful for my amazing family that no matter what have always stuck by my side. I am also blessed to have an amazing work family that has always been there to support me and help anyway possible. Cancer picked the wrong girl for sure·
