My Story
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 triple negative breast cancer on August 1, 2024, a week before my 41st birthday. To say this was a surprise was an understatement. I didn’t feel sick and I didn’t have any close relatives with a history of breast cancer. A mammogram caught the cancer early and I started chemotherapy soon afterwards. After genetic testing I discovered I have a BRCA 1 gene mutation, which explains why I had triple negative cancer so young. After finishing chemo I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction in order to reduce my risk of the cancer coming back. I am beyond grateful that my cancer was caught early, and for the strong support I’ve received from family and friends.
This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. I hope you’ll consider donating today!
