April of 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I spent the next two months preparing for surgery to remove my cancer on 6/15/2021. It is due to the love and support of my family and friends that I am doing great today, CANCER FREE!!!

The year of recovery was full of physical and mental challenges as I moved forward with my life as a cancer survivor. Without the support of my medical team (oncologists, surgeons, nurses and physical therapists) and my support team (nurses and friends who deserve nursing degrees), my recovery would have been even more challenging.

Looking back on the tears and laughter of the journey, I wouldn't change a thing. Nine hours of surgery, two surgeons, three days in ICU, 30 days in a recliner, months of not driving, countless friend visits and weekly doctor or PT visits all led to an almost full recovery a year later. I am beyond blessed
