My Story
Last February my life completely changed when I was diagnosed with stage 1 invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). It seemed like it was going to be an easy fix with surgery followed by 20 rounds of radiation. Then cancer asked me to hold it's beer when I then learned my cancer was metastatic and traveled into one of my lymph nodes and some of the fatty tissue of my right breast. My course of treatment then went to 4 rounds of chemo and 34 rounds of radiation just to make sure all cancer cells were killed.
Fast forward to today....I survived the treatments and better yet, I survived cancer! I'm now on some medications for the next few years to ensure that I will be declared cured in little over 4 years. It's not been an easy journey, but it's one that has made me stronger than before.
On June 7th I will be participating in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk as a survivor. I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it's emotional support via Komen's helpline, financial support through Komen's financial assistance program, or navigation services to break down barriers to care, Komen will be there for them.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let's show breast cancer patients there's a whole community standing by their side.
