My Story
Being a woman in my mid 30's, I never imagined that at my age I would have multiple friends diagnosed with breast cancer. However, the unimaginable has indeed happened. I remember thinking to myself, "but we're too young, how is this even possible?" This year felt like an exceptionally important year to join a cause that not only focuses on women's health but also supports much needed grants, research and testing with the singular goal of ending breast cancer.
It goes without saying that your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer, and what a wonderful world that would be. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. An estimated 300,000 people in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s financial assistance program, or navigation services to break down barriers to care, Komen will be there for them.
