My Story
This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
It was a few days before the Eagles played in the Super Bowl of which that day coincided with my Birthday that I called and asked my Dr. for results. I did not want to celebrate not knowing and feel the weight of the unknown. And so, on Feb. 7th my Dr. told me that my Biopsy results came back positive for Breast Cancer. In that moment I thought it was the end for me, I had no idea what to expect nor did I ever have someone close to me go thru a similar experience that I could relate to; and so, all I was left with were my thoughts. I decided to share the news with those close to me and found that without them I would of never been able to navigate thru this journey and where I am today. My Son, soon to be five years old also gave me the strength to stay positive and reminded that with positive energy good things will happen...I truly believe this because I am living proof and encourage others to begin to believe in the same way. It was not easy trust me and so, I would like to send a special Thank You to all of you who gave me hope, showed your love & support and were there for me during my recovery. I will never forget those days and everyone who has been such a huge part of my journey. You are now a part of my story and I am grateful for each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart. I am excited to be walking as a PROUD SURVIVOR in the ‘More than PINK Walk’ and hope to encourage others to hold their head high and stay positive because we are all here to help pick eachother up, you are not alone. I Love & Miss you Dad. I know you have something to do with this and have been by side the whole time. Thank you for always having had a positive outlook on life…it certainly has helped me during some of my toughest days since God has made you one of his Angels. Thank you for showing me the way.
