Another year, another Walk. After over 30 years working with Breast Cancer Patients as a Breast Surgeon, I was hoping we might be near a cure. But sadly, Breast Cancer, like all cancers, is very sneaky. It behaves differently in different people, and that is why a cure is so hard to come by. It is also why we all need to continue to Walk, and to donate to organizations like the Komen Foundation. Besides being one of the largest private contributors for Breast Cancer Research, Komen provides emotional support for patients via their Helpline, Navigation services for those patients who do not have that available to them where they live, and Financial Assistance to patients.
