Nearly 3 years ago, I had my yearly mammogram done and discovered I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer.  I've been receiving excellent care from Kaiser and amazing support from my friends and family. I've learned the most important part of this journey is to stay positive and follow the prescribed treatment. To my surprise, I have found that several of my friends from college and work have also been diagnosed with breast cancer. We really need to find a cure for this pervasive disease. Ironically, my daughter and I were volunteers for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for more than a decade.  Now, my family and I have participated as a team and have been so grateful for the support and the community this organization has shown us.
