I have cancer but cancer does not have ME.
- On April 5, 2024 I received "the call". After numerous scans, biopsies, and tests, I was initially diagnosed with "Stage 0" DCIS.
- On May 16, 2024 I underwent a double mastectomy with immediate construction.
- On June 4, 2024 I underwent emergency surgery to remove my right tissue expander due to an aggressive infection.
- On June 14, 2024, my diagnosis was updated to Stage 1A Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. My pathology report post-mastectomy confirmed invasive cancer and from there things moved very quickly -- ECGs and more testing -- and my chemo port was placed on June 21, 2024.
- On July 8, 2024, I started chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusions once a week for 12 weeks to treat HER2+ ER/PR + Breast Cancer (Triple Positive Breast Cancer)
My fight is far from over and this marathon has only begun. I've decided to join the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s financial assistance program, or navigation services to break down barriers to care, Komen will be there for them.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making your donation today?
