Dear Friends and Family,
In June of 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. I had zero symptoms.
The diagnosis came with a whirlwind of Dr. visits, tests, biopsies, a double mastectomy, 8 rounds of chemotherapy, and 25 rounds of targeted radiation.
This October, I registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk in San Diego, on November 3rd.
This year I will dedicate my walk to all of my friends and family who's lives have been changed by cancer. I will also say a prayer for those loved ones who have been taken from us, and will have them tucked in my heart.
I also want to raise awareness about early detection, and genetic testing. Please book your mammograms! That is how my breast cancer was found! I don't want to think about what would have happened if I had not gone for mine. Also, if Breast Cancer runs in your family, please advocate for yourself to get early mammograms! If you have been told that you have dense breasts, advocate for an MRI or Ultrasound as well. And lastly, please get your genetic testing done. It is just a blood test, but can give you a wealth of information for yourself and your family. Please reach out to me if you have any questions at all!!! I hope that my story can be someone else's survival guide.
You have been there for me with your endless support while I was enduring my treatments. Today I am asking for your support again, with a tax-dedctable donation. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today. Whether it’s emotional support, financial support, or navigation services, every dollar helps. Each time I had chemo, It was over $76,000.00. Multiply that by 8. That doesn't touch on all of the other appointments, procedures, medications, hospital stays and surgeries. No donation is too big or too small.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
With sincere gratitude, and a pep that is back in my step,
Erin Payne
P.S. I plan on reaching my fundraising goal by November 3 :0)
