In 2020, the peak of a global pandemic was on everyone’s minds, but my family had something even more daunting at the forefront of our thoughts and concerns: my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. The news is never easy to hear, but the outpouring of support she (and all of us) received was truly amazing. That year, my brothers Matthew, Nathan, Kevin, and I organized and walked in our first ever Komen Georgia MORE THAN PINK Walk to raise awareness of breast cancer and to support our mom through her journey while collecting donations that provide invaluable resources to breast cancer research and assistance for those going through treatment. One month from today,  on October 21st, our team “Hakuna Ma Tatas: It Means No Worries” will participate for our fourth year in a row as we celebrate our mom being CANCER FREE!
