My Story
Breast cancer has affected my life twice, I lost an aunt decades ago and it touched a lifelong friend a couple of years ago. These were both strong women of God, they had/have great faith and this insidious disease rocked them and everyone close to them. Unlike most women of color they were healthy, had access to mammograms and were test regularly. Women of color, especially Black women have higher breast cancer death rates, are diagnoised with breast cancer at earlier ages, have lower breast cancer survival rates and have limited access to care.
