My Story
In February 2013, at the age of 36, I was diagnosed with Stage III Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. I had just moved to Atlanta, Ga, with my 5-year-old daughter, to begin graduate school for my master’s degree in nursing. I decided to continue school during my fight. I went through chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation, and went into remission in August 2013. In December 2014, I graduated with a dual master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Educator. Today, I am celebrating 11 years (and counting) cancer free!
