My Story
Thank you for visiting my page, Breasties!
My name is Olivia and I am a local advocacy ambassador for @susangkomen working to help spread awareness, push for funding and generally supporting previvors, thrivers and survivors.
I lost my mama to Metastatic Inflammatory Breast Cancer in August of 2023, after battling for 11 months. My mom was always passionate about breast cancer awareness, even before either of her experiences with it. We completed many breast cancer awareness walks together and fundraised since I was a child.
After seeing the toll it took on her and everyone she loved, plus becoming more engaged in my local community, it reignited my passion for this cause and I knew I had to do more to help prevent this happening to others.
Last year I raised over $10,000 for the Charlotte More Than Pink walk and met so many wonderful people within Komen. When the opportunity came up to apply to be a local ambassador with them, I couldn’t say no. I was recently approved and look forward to working more with my community to push for more funding, research and awareness.
My mom wanted a tattoo that said “until I can’t” meaning she would fight until she no longer could. She wasn’t able to get it as her skin was too bad for the needles. Now that she isn’t able to fight, my sister @meifun1 and I will be doing that for her and others. (I’m too queasy so I don’t think getting the tattoo for her will be in my future, but my badass big sister will be taking care of that for me.)
I dream of a day where others don’t have to face this truly terrible disease, and where loved ones don’t have to watch them suffer or grieve their loss. By donating to my walk, you are helping make this dream a reality. Together, I know we can raise funds to find better treatments and a cure. I will continue this fight for my mom and everyone else, until I can’t.
I’m also THRILLED to be collaborating with the Boobless Baker this year!
