Losing my mother to breast cancer has been the most challenging experience of my life. Watching her battle bravely against an illness that ultimately took her from us has left me with a deep sense of loss but a determination to act.  Especially this time of year, continuing on with life and grieving seems impossible. I want to channel my grief into hope by raising funds for breast cancer research. My goal is to support efforts that bring us closer to a cure, so no one has to endure losing a loved one to this disease.  By fundraising I hope to honor my mother's memory and to contribute to a future where breast cancer is something we can overcome.  I created this team 'Miles for Melons' in honor of my mother, every single women who has fought and lost, who has fought and won, who are still fighting and who are yet to fight.  Along with the families who have been affected.

As a member of this team, we are each playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® in their  mission to end breast cancer forever.

The money our team raises will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer education & information, emotional support, patient navigation, financial assistance and so much more.
