My Story
In June 2023, my household and family were punched in the face. My beautiful wife, Emily Fay was diagnosed with estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. 34 years old with two young children, 4 and 2 years old at the time. In August 2023, she underwent a double mastectomy. A “quick” recovery and then she had to go through 8 rounds of chemotherapy that started in September 2023, was 16 weeks long, and consisted of four different medications. Once that was complete, she went through 28 straight week days of radiation that started at the end of January 2024 and continued through the end of February 2024. During all of this treatment, she made no complaints and continued being the absolute rock of our home, never missing a beat. Even on tougher days, her main focus was the kids and and how I was doing. During the hardest point in her and our families lives her focus was on others. That’s just who Emily is. She is such a kind-hearted and beautiful person inside and out. For all that know her they would say the same thing. I’m not sure there’s a more genuine and kind human out there. We are very lucky and grateful today that she is now fully recovered and in remission. The battle is not over, both physical and mental, but she continues to get stronger every single day. Her strength is what drives our home and keeps us pressing onward.
This year, we wanted to join the Susan G. Komen community and give back to the fight against breast cancer, so we joined the MORE THAN PINK Walk.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making your donation today?
