My Story
A Monkey on My Back...three years out from my breast cancer diagnosis and this is how I view breast cancer. I am happy, healthy and thriving, enjoying life with my family-especially my sweet grandchildren-but the threat of recurrence is always there. Having cancer never entered my mind until it happened to me, so now is my time to act. My dream is to abolish breast cancer so my daughters and daughters-in-law never have to worry about it, so no family ever has to experience it again. Last year my entire family, including my 82 year old mother-in-law who is also a breast cancer survivor, walked as Team Wankum to support the efforts of Susan G. Komen. My heart was full that day and is again today as I reach out to all of you for another amazing fundraising year!
