In January 2024, our dear team member Elizabeth received the news that she had a suspicious abnormality and needed a biopsy. After weeks of navigating appointments, insurance, and medical jargon, Elizabeth began her breast cancer journey. She underwent numerous tests and was eventually diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ, stage 0.
In May 2024, Elizabeth faced her lumpectomy with courage. After months of tests and doctor visits, she was relieved to learn that she did not need medication but would undergo radiotherapy. By mid-September, Elizabeth had completed her radiotherapy sessions. She is now on regular doctor appointments to ensure the cancer remains in remission.
Elizabeth has been a dedicated Guest Service associate at Solara Surfside for nearly 11 years, warmly greeting and assisting hundreds of our owners and guests. Her story is one of resilience and hope. On October 19th, we will walk in her honor and for all those affected by breast cancer.
We will always fight for this cause, inspired by Elizabeth’s strength and the countless others who share similar journeys. 💖
