My Breast Cancer Story
Why do I fight against breast cancer?
My name is Sergio Mendoza, and I started the Pink Key Society because my wife Sarah died from metastatic breast cancer in 2017, and I don’t want to lose anyone else.
Since 2019, the Pink Key Society has raised over $118,000 to give access to services to those that need it. Historically, we have been the #1 fundraising team in South Florida, but we still need to do more.
Why Susan G. Komen?
While doctors and scientists work tirelessly to discover a cure for cancer, there is already one thing we can do to save countless lives: we can bring the current standard of care to everyone that needs it. Thousands of women die from breast cancer because they don’t have access to the medical care they need, but the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (komen.org) is trying to change that.
Pink Palmer Trinity
Sarah went to Palmer Trinity (palmertrinity.org class of ’95), and our son Sergio is now a 7th grader. I am sure she would be very proud of him, and happy to see us broaden our efforts by having the Pink Key Society join the Pink Palmer Trinity team.
Please join me.
Whether you join in solidarity for someone who is currently fighting or is a survivor of the disease, or like me, you join to memorialize someone who has died from breast cancer, yet you don’t want to give up and you don’t want to lose anyone else, please join me in this fight against breast cancer.
You don’t need to walk to support the fight against breast cancer. Please follow the Pink Key Society and/or join our team to show your support. Please join me:
