My Story
In May of this year I found a lump in my breast and another in my armpit. As a Nurse Practitioner, I knew right away that something was wrong. The next day I saw a provider at my Gyn office and 5 days later I had my diagnosis. Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 2B, Grade 3... Never in a million years did I think this would be my life, but it is, and let me tell you, the infusion chair at a cancer center is the great equalizer! Cancer doesn't care who you are or what you do for a living, we are all at the mercy of the medical providers and their decisions. I had to fight and claw to get the best treatment for me and be my own advocate. I still have a long way to go in my treatment, but it is my personal mission to be an advocate for anyone going through this!
