Following a routine screening mammogram in August of 2023 I was diagnosed with stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) in September 2023. I had no idea that the screening mammogram I had done a few times before would be different this time. It saved my life! With the guidance and support of my doctors, family and friends, I went through surgery and radiation treatment. In August 2024, I had my first screening mammogram since my diagnosis and received a clean bill of health.
