Happy Fall, 2024 – I’m getting a late start this year so please, don’t delay (oops, like I did) - it’s great to reach out to all my fellow Breast Cancer Warriors!  As many of you all know, I'm now a 27 YEAR BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR and my sister, Denise, is a 31-year survivor!!!   

Unfortunately, most of you will either also be survivors yourselves, or know someone who is!  This year alone, more than 300,000 people living in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  And while great strides have been made in prevention and treatment, there is still so much work to be done to find the cures to end this terrible disease.

My goal is to raise another $10,000 this year to fight against breast cancer and I hope I can count on your support to help me reach it, regardless of the organization you like to support. And as in past years, I will match your donations up to $4,000 to any of these fabulous organizations!  

There are several fronts on which to fight in the battle against Breast Cancer, including: Funding research to find cures; Funding education and early detection programs (including Mammograms); and Funding services to those who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and need help in their journey.

• Susan G Komen: Funds raised at the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk help end breast cancer here in Colorado, and everywhere people need help through their 360 approach:

1. Research- Komen is the largest private funder of breast cancer research in the world.  The 19 FDA-approved treatments for breast cancer are all directly possible thanks to donations to Komen’s research initiatives.
2. Care- Komen operates the country’s only breast cancer helpline, connecting patients to local services such as mammogram support.  We also offer direct financial assistance through the Colorado Diana Lynn Trujillo Financial Assistance Program.
3. Community- we bring together survivors and thrivers throughout the year, and at the Colorado MORE THAN PINK Walk.  Survivors and thrivers are celebrated as VIP’s at the walk in Hope Village and start off the walk on the Pathway of Hope.
4. Action- we are voice in Denver and Washington DC to ensure health access for all.
