Two weeks ago I noticed a lump on my right breast. I was originally diagnosed with mastitis but something just didn’t feel right. I got into the doctors office where they then referred me to the breast center. There I was given a mammogram and ultrasound and biopsy. After waiting on results we were finally notified that I have stage two, triple negative breast cancer. Good news is it has not spread to my lymph nodes.
Things have moved so fast since hearing and reading those words. I have met with my team and they have come up with a plan to help me fight this cancer. I will begin chemotherapy in the upcoming weeks and will be on an intense chemo journey for the next 6 months followed by surgery then radiation and possibly more chemo.
Because of this I have had to end my breastfeeding journey which has been difficult in itself. However there is so much good in this world that our family has been flooded with donations of breast milk and I am forever grateful for those women. The difference they are making for our family is something I will never forget.
The word cancer is never something I thought I would be associated with but it is something I will over come and eventually be a thing in my past. God has been with me through this entire process. Miracles have happened left and right and I am forever grateful. If anything, this is making my faith stronger which is pretty cool in itself.
I ask that people just pray for my family and myself as we take this on.
Something I’ve also been working on is accepting help through out this. If would like to donate to the flight against breast cancer that would be amazing. There is a link below! We also have a meal train started if you want to help in another way. The link is also below. Again prayers are much appreciated!
Thank you in advance for everything! Let the crushing of cancer begin!!
