My Achievements

My Story, so back in November my spouse found a pea sized ball in my right breast, so I went to get it checked had a mammogram and ultrasound done on November 6th 2023. They told me it maybe a cyst so I continued on with my life and kept an eye on it just in case. Well over the few short months it was growing and started to hurt me and get in my way of everyday life. Where mine was positioned it was right where my underwear of my bra was so it was quite uncomfortable so I'm sure you can see what it was getting in the way of my everyday life. So I decided i wanted to remove it, I scheduled another appointment at my obgyn to see if they noticed a difference in size. At first they didn't want to bother with it but I wasn't having that I wanted a second opinion and that's exactly what happened. They sent me to a breast surgeon and she automatically notified it was a larger size . So we scheduled a surgery appointment right away on March 1st 2024. Well I thought nothing of it and continued on with my life. Welp I got a phone call on March 4th 2024 from my breast surgeon and that's when she delivered the news that changed my life forever. She told me I had breast cancer I didn't know what to say I was speechless all I could do is cry. She told me I would have to have another lumpectomy to remove some lymph nodes removed to see it had spread. Thank God it came back negative in both she removed. I was 37 when I was diagnosed with stage 1A HER 2 positive. Since I've been diagnosed with breast cancer we got the ball rolling not wasting any time to get my treatments going so I started my chemo on April fools day and of course this was no joke to be laughing about but that's all I could do was to make lite of this situation after all. I had 12 rounds of chemo and Since than I've finished my chemo treatment on 6-24-2024. My heart is in good condition and I've now got my radiation date of 7-16-2024 I have 20 rounds of that to do and I also have to do and antibody infusion every 21 days for a year. So this time next year I'll be all done with my treatments and hopefully cancer free. That's the main goal is that we keep that cancer at bay by any means. This will be my first event for breast cancer so show my support and to show myself I'm not in this alone there is so many beautiful ladies and gentlemen going through this I want to try and do my part. I'm a self advocate so I try to help as many as I can. Now I try to enjoy every moment I get because life is so precious and we never know how long we have.
