Doing Good Together
I expect you know that I am a Delta Gamma, starting way back in my college days. I have stayed involved for more than 50 years because of the friendships but also because DG takes Doing Good seriously. Each October they dedicate a week to the Do Good Sisterhood. Everyone is encouraged to put purpose into practice by getting out into our communities to do good and spread kindness! No matter how big or small, the world could use it all!
I’ve decided to join the Bay Area Delta Gamma team taking part in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk on Sunday, October 8. Over the past 30 years, I have been keenly aware and supportive of their mission of ending breast cancer forever. In 1990, my mother, Jean Nelson, died of breast cancer – she wasn’t even 65 yet and had always been more than diligent about her health. Why? I know you have too many friends with similar questions.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts. They are calling this year’s walk “more than pink” – Komen understands the challenge is not just a day or a cute hat but an ongoing effort to research a cure and provide assistance to those affected by breast cancer.
I think this is truly a way to Do Good, and show kindness to many women and their families.
I hope you agree and will donate generously today. Thanks in advance.
