You always hear about others stories and watch others go through it, but no one ever thinks it’s going to happen to them. Especially me, when I was caught off guard and within a blink of an eye, I received my cancer diagnosis. Alone at the doctor’s office, because I thought I was just going for a follow up appointment after surgery.
I am extremely thankful for my amazing husband, my mother & Vinnie, my sister Danielle & my brother-in-law Eddie, my sister Stephanie and brother-in-law Rob, and my nieces Alyssa & Alex, who have all been my rocks every step of the way. I wouldn’t be able to go through my journey without all their love & support!
The outpouring amount love, guidance, and support I’ve received these past months from my family, friends, and colleagues, has constantly reminded me that I am not alone in this journey. The kindness they have all shown me during my time in need will never be forgotten and I am forever grateful!
I am forever thankful for my team of surgeons and surgical ICU nurses for walking me through every step of this process, answering all my questions & concerns, and most of all getting me through surgery without any complications.
As I reflect on how much I’ve been through this past year, multiple mammograms, biopsies, MRIs, a lumpectomy, a CAT scan, a bone scan, my Breast Cancer diagnosis, a double mastectomy, and reconstruction, I can’t help but be so grateful for early detection.
As a member of this team, we are each playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® in their mission to end breast cancer forever.
The money our team raises will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer education & information, emotional support, patient navigation, financial assistance and so much more.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us. United together, we can support those who need help today, while fearlessly searching for tomorrow's cures.
