Welcome to the Wrecking Crew!

Everyone on this team is playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® in their ONE mission to end breast cancer forever. Breast Cancer is personal to this family. 2024 marks Beth’s 9th year and Jenn’s 3rd as a survivor. 

The money raised by The Wrecking Crew will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, treatment assistance and so much more.

Our team was created in 2017 when Beth was living in Indianapolis and was named an official Race Ambassador. That year we we were celebrating a recent cancer free diagnosis after Beth had spent a long 18 months fighting Stage IV Inflammatory Breast Cancer. She was in the process of completing her reconstructive surgery. Our friends and family were overjoyed that Beth had wrecked cancer.

Not long after the walk, complications with lymphedema lead to the discovery of a metastasis in Beth’s brachial plexus leading to her current diagnosis of Metastatic Inflammatory Breast Cancer and the paralysis of her right arm.

That’s when The Wrecking Crew became an annual opportunity for friends and family to gather, celebrate life, and cheer Beth on as she annually beat the survival odds of metastatic Breast Cancer. Not to mention the survivorship of her original stage IV diagnosis. Doctors have stopped giving Beth a timeline since she plans on living as long as she da*n well pleases, thank-you-very-much. 

In fall of 2021, The Wrecking Crew was devastated when Jenn, Beth’s sister, received a breast cancer diagnosis. She went thru a lumpectomy and was staged at 1B leading to chemotherapy and radiation. Jenn was declared cancer free in 2022 and while she is battling a tough case of lymphedema, remains cancer free and doctors give her an excellent long term prognosis. Jenn Wrecked cancer!

This family continues to Wreck Cancer and doesn’t plan on letting up pretty much ever!
