JessWeCan Fight Breast Cancer
**update: since my original posting of this fundraiser, we've attended endless appointments and heard many opinions of some of the most knowledgable resources available to us. It has been an emotional roller coaster, at best. Unfortunately, we were informed the breast cancer has also spread to Jessica's lungs, making this a Stage 4 battle of Metastatic Breast Cancer. Although we're hopeful for better news in the future, right now she is being treated to suppress the cancer for as long as possible. With a combination of her strength and massive support system, i know we can get through this together and strive for a life of purpose and longevity.
Everyone is still welcome to join us this Saturday ð
Hey everyone,
Some may recall that last year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk simply because I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer.
This year...its personal. As some may know but most do not, my younger sister Jessica was diagnosed with 2 forms of invasive breast cancer just a few weeks ago. At a mere 33 years young, my sister radiates kindness, motivation and adventure. Obviously this unexpected and devistating news has ravashed both Jess and our family. Somehow though, we have managed to come together in forming a treatment plan for her with us here, in Nashville and for whatever else necessary to support her along the way.
Clearly this will be my sister's toughest life battle thus far. As a family, we are as prepared for this journey as we can be. Although hundreds of thousands of people are diagnosed with breast cancer annually, i can imagine the battle can sometimes result in a sense of lonliness. It is important to me to convince my sister of otherwise.
That being said, i eagerly invite you to join our team, JessWeCan in our walk to support the cause. Regardless of any monetary contributions, we'd love to have you here! Please dont under estimate your presence as sometimes it's just as important to simply show up for others.
If you're reading this, chances are you've been/will be affected by breast cancer in one way or another. Please consider supporting us and your loved ones get one step closer to a world without breast cancer.
Feel free to share and thanks for your consideration, time, and support.
