Spring of 2024 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I am one of the lucky ones that found out early, have a great team of doctors, amazing support system, and was able to tackle this head on. I am not to the finish line yet, but hoping by the time I participate in the More than Pink Walk, I will be. 

I have been able to do genetic testing, talk to a variety of different doctors, and do my own research. Nothing points to a reason why I developed breast cancer, and why at such an early age. Research is so important. Not only to find a reason why, but also to find a way to prevent others from having to go through this terrifying journey. 

I walk for myself. I walk for my friends and family that have been touched by this disease. But I also walk for the women (and men) that are early in their journey and trying to find their way through. Because sometimes the only way out is through.
