This year, I joined the ONE Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.  I am dedicated to Komen's ONE mission of ending breast cancer forever! We have all been touched by breast cancer in some way, whether it’s a family member or friend who has gone through the battle, or simply seeing the stories of others who are fighting and raising awareness.

On May 2023, my sister-in-law, Melissa Santiago, was diagnosed with breast cancer. The initial shock and disbelief was a moment that shook our family as we grappled with the reality of her facing a life threatening illness. We felt helpless but our family knew one thing…she will not fight alone and that we will fight with her. It has been a challenging and emotional journey for Melissa but through God’s grace, the power of hope, love, optimism, faith, and lots of prayers, she has been able to celebrate small victories and milestones one step at a time. To witness her courage and resilience in the face of pain and uncertainty, it is incredibly inspiring. 

Please join me in walking for those affected, survivors, and angels. I am walking for my loved one who is a warrior, fighter, and a badass! Melissa is Pretty in Pink and we are her posse that will continue to lift her.
