My Story
Just a few months ago I received an unexpected text from one of my longest dear friends, Carla. She was letting me and close friends know that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and all the scary things that can come with it. It was shocking to say the least. She is in her forties and lives a healthy lifestyle. Due to her family history of breast cancer, she was encouraged to start MRI screenings in addition to mammograms. Thank goodness she listened! The MRI showed a tumor when the mammogram missed it! It was caught early and is treatable. With that said, the treatment plan and emotional stress is exhausting for her and life changing. Get your mammograms, MRI's, advocate for yourself!
