Enough Already
In March, 2024, after 19 years, I was again diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. It was not a return of the original, but a new cancer. After genetic testing revealed that I have 2 genetic mutations that are common to Ashkenazi Jews, and significant for breast cancer, I decided to do a bilateral mastectomy. And because the tumor was found via Mammaprint to be high risk for possible spread, I began four rounds of proactive chemo. Again.
So, enough already. I walk most years in the Komen Walk because I want to see research that can help end this for everyone. I know the advances that have been made helped give me results that guided some of my decision making. This year I'm forming a team with my dear friend and co-multiple survivor, Michelle Hynson, to hopefully help raise even more money to end breast cancer. We'd love for you to walk with us, or donate to support us.
Thank you, in advance, for your support.
