Ker's kicking cancer's ass
This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.
During my treatment for breast cancer, walking was a key activity for me. My medical team was astounded that I was averaging 7 miles a day during weekly chemo and daily radiation. If’s just what I needed to do being the mom to two beautiful dogs (another key to my treatment!).
I’ve seen people close to me beat breast cancer (different stages, different courses of treatment, etc), and sadly I’ve experienced the loss when someone fights and fights and fights and cancer takes over in the end.
So, I walk for everyone touched by this disease. I walk in praise of my medical team. I walk with gratitude for the insane amount of support I’ve received from friends and family throughout my diagnosis and treatment. I walk so we don’t have to continue to walk, so we find a cure and end the quest.
