November 15, 2023 my world turned upside down. That is the day that I found out I had breast cancer, Invasive ductile carcinoma to be exact. I found a lump in my breast a couple months earlier and after multiple doctor appointments, an ultrasound, and a biopsy, it was confirmed it was cancer. I knew from that day on that I was going to have to fight, be strong, and lean on my Lord and Savior. God has shown me so much in those nine months; How amazing my family is, how supportive this community is, how strong I truly can be, and how blessed I was to have such brilliant doctors and nurses. After eight rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy, a hysterectomy, and 20 sessions of radiation, I can now say that I am a survivor! Thanks to today’s technology, I am able to live my best life!
I want to support others who are going through the same diagnosis. I feel like this is a great starting point, and have done this walk for many years!
