My Story- Why I Walk
Why I Walk
On May 22, 2020, I found out I had breast cancer which was discovered through a routine mammogram. After another biopsy, ultrasound and two MRI's I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and the journey began. I needed a why, but no one could answer that for me. Early on in my journey I discovered my why, which answers why I walk. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight...one in eight are diagnosed with breast cancer. I was one in eight...
I walk for everyone who has been impacted by breast cancer. I walk for families. I walk for the husbands. I walk for friends. I walk for coworkers, I walk for survivors. I walk for me. I walk for EVERYONE! I'm passionate about the breast cancer cause, and joining my team is one of the best ways to support me in this fight. I'm excited to be taking action, because that is what it will take to end breast cancer.
It's not enough to wear a pink ribbon and say that I support the breast cancer cause: I'm showing that I'm More Than Pink by getting out there and walking for the cures. And every dollar our team raises will help to make a difference.
