Hit My Goal

My Story

You have cancer.” These three words…no person should ever hear.  This is why I’m walking in the Susan G. Komen “More than Pink” walk on Sunday, September 22nd. Help me meet my goal of $1,000.

In July 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in January 2022, my cancer came back. I have metastatic breast cancer in my lungs, spine, kidney and liver. I am so grateful to my wonderful oncology team at Aurora’s Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic in Germantown.

But that isn’t why I’m walking and asking for your support.  You see, 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives…every 14 seconds somewhere in the world someone is diagnosed with this disease.  I have family and friends who are survivors, some who are still battling and some who have lost their lives to this monster.

When I think of all the different women in my life, I worry who will be next…

My daughters?

My granddaughters?

My sisters-in-law?

My nieces?

Past co-workers?

Past students or one of their family members?

One of my former basketball players? (I’ve spent years coaching girls’ basketball.)

Any of my daughters’ friends?

You?

The list is long.

Please help me raise funds so no woman has to hear the words, “You have Cancer.” Join me in the fight to end breast cancer and donate now.
