Why I walk
I have been participating in the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk for over a decade to help raise funds for a great cause. It started with my mom's college roommate Marci we lost - and the reason for the team I am on. In 2017, a good friend received a terminal diagnosis at age 32. We lost her a year later in 2018.
This walk is also for the names friends and family have given me over the years - people that went into remission: Tammy Wheeler, Mary Jones, Laurie Jacks, Jyothi Bathija, and Laura Lewis. I walk for these wonderful people too, as well as all those out there dealing with a diagnosis, going through treatment, and in remission.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
